Great News for the 2006 Economy!

Small business is very optimistic about this coming year according to the Kiplinger newsletter and the Small Business Advisory Council. Many small businesses are planning to increase staff and to spend money on capital outlays, Roper Insurance & Financial Services included.   We have ramped up in every department to better service our existing and new clients, offering even greater service!  Small business is going to increase spending on most every level in 2006 because they see many signs that the economy is getting stronger.  This is Great News for all of us that are in business.  I wanted to share this with you so you can plan your year accordingly.  We read and hear so much in the news that is negative, I wanted to pass this bit of good news on to you.  They said the strongest growth areas are in information technology, health related areas, and businesses that cater to baby boomers and the affluent.   Colorado, Nevada, Texas and Arizona were the states named best for new start-up businesses.  So if you have that idea for a new business on the backburner, move it to the front and launch your new business in 2006.  Kiplinger also forecasts in their January newsletter that interest rates are to hit 8% in 2006, inflation will be moderate at around 2.8% and over 1.9 million new jobs will be added for the year.

Rethink your 2006 marketing and staffing plans to make sure you are getting all the business you can handle.  Realign your goals with your action plan to make sure you will get the results you want to get.  Let us review your benefit package to make sure it is the most competitive to attract and retain your key asset -- your people or yourself.  Plan your year for the best ever, double your effort and work your plan like it cannot fail.  With extra effort and lots of elbow grease, you will get results that you will be proud of.

My best to you in 2006!
Steve

Here is the latest News from your carrier:

If you are currently taking a prescription medication, you may want to verify that the drug is still covered.  Carriers change their formulary lists fairly often, with new drugs added, some drugs dropped (especially if a generic or over-the-counter substitute is released), and some drugs changing tiers.  Kaiser just released their new formulary list (click here to view it).  If you have questions about your carrier's formulary list, please let us know or call the customer service number on your ID card.
